Salt Lake Temple 5653.jpg

If you have seen one of the temples at night, fully lighted, you know what an impressive sight that can be. The house of the Lord, bathed in light, standing out in the darkness, becomes symbolic of the power and the inspiration of the gospel of Jesus Christ standing as a beacon in a world that sinks ever further into spiritual darkness.
— President Boyd K. Packer

About the Artist

James L. Heywood

Blessed with an artist's eye, Jim set aside pencils, brushes, and other traditional artist tools to focus on the photograph. His first camera capture was the Salt Lake Temple decades ago. He adds to the collection at a measured pace, working now with pixels rather than emulsions, with a unique evolving perspective at the convergence of sacred and beautiful.

Currently he and his wife find joy in Central Utah, where they can be close to most of their twenty-five grandchildren.
